Increasing the Wear Resistance of Parts of Slurry Pumps,

Abstract

Laboratory and inplant tests conducted at benefication plants of the Donbas confirmed that the parts of slurry pumps cast from an IChKh28N2 alloy containing C 2.4, Si 0.89, Mn 0.51, Cr 34.5, Ni 3.16, and P 0.08 percent (Brinell hardness no. 444-77) exhibited a higher wear resistance than parts made of 5 other alloys tested. The service life of parts made of the IChKh28N2 alloy was 15 times longer than that of parts made of grade SCh15-32 gray cast iron. It is recommended that precision casting be employed to eliminate mech. treatment. (Author)
