The Nature of High-Temperature Creep in Refractory-Metals and Alloys (Priroda Vysokotemperaturnoi Polzuchesti Tugoplavkzkh Metallov i Splavov),

Abstract

Based on an analysis of a theoretical creep equation for body-centered metals an equation is developed for practical use in calculating the steady-state creep rates of metals and alloys in accordance with their melting points. The validity of the equation obtained is confirmed by experimental investigations of steady-state creep rates for several Nb-Ti and Nb-W alloys at temperatures >0.5 T sub mp.
