Motion of an Accelerated Body in a Medium Where the Resistance Varies as the Square of the Velocity.

Abstract

The solutions to the Riccati differential equation of the motion of an accelerated body in a medium where the resistance varies as the square of the velocity are presented in a form suitable for computation by desk calculator. In addition, a simpler and faster approximate solution is derived from these equations. Both methods are useful for fast point mass trajectory simulation and slide rule approximation. (Author)
