Abstract

The document is concerned with the forces of change, which are sweeping the nation, requiring the redefining of national objectives, the redetermining of national priorities, and the reallocating of the national resources. It has become increasingly imperative that military executives competently manage the vast resources entrusted to them to meet national objectives. The paper addresses the subject of logistics management education, describing some of the significant contributions to management from the military environment, discussing the important role of logistics in creating and supporting the combat forces and weapons required by the military establishment, and emphasizing the vital function performed by educational institutions, such as Air Force's, in developing the managerial abilities, technical skills, professional competency, and expertise of military logistics managers.
