Dissipative Systems,
Abstract
The research to be reported developed in the following manner. A study was completed of dissipative retarded functional differential equations, which was then developed in a more general fashion which, however, assumed the strong smoothing of initial data as occurs for retarded functional differential equations. Further generalizations were made for parabolic and hyperbolic partial differential equations and for a wide class of functional differential equations of neutral type. It was then decided to unite the disparate points of view by identifying the general hypothesis which lead to the principal results, which is the subject of this report.
