Parametric Oscillator Research.

Abstract

The objective of this program was to investigate techniques for extending the tuning range of optical parametric oscillators further into (a) the infrared and (b) the visible and ultraviolet. Two separate tasks were undertaken on this program. The first was an experimental and theoretical study of a proustite oscillator which was pumped by the 1.06 micron output of a Nd:YAG laser, and the second a study of an ammonium dihydrogen phosphate (ADP) oscillator which was pumped by the frequency-quadrupled output from a Nd:YAG laser. This report summarizes the results of two year's work on these tasks. (Author)
