Systems for the Identification of Moving Objects,

Abstract

The principle of the recognition of moving bodies is exemplified by the problem of recognition of the type of automobiles in which use is made of both the input signal occurring at a given moment and data on previous signals. The calculation of previous input signals is realized by means of two series-connected recognition systems. Oe system serves to classify the input signals, the other to classify the sequence of their variation in time. The experimental part of the work presents the results of experiments dealing with the recognition of moving automobile models. To obtain the electric signal from optical patterns, use is made of an input device which utilizes a TV-camera and a Dove prism which continuously rotates in front of it. The device is called a quasi-correlating device. (Author)
