KT-27 Camera with LI-213 Image Orthicon Tube,

Abstract

Until now, the LI-201 camera tube has been used in studio cameras, especially the KT-27. The LI-201 image orthicon has a number of short-comings: high noise level, signal inhomogeneity over the field, poor image background, and high microphonic effect. Now a camera tube of improved design has been developed to replace the LI-201; it is the first to use the new technique of atomizing silver on the target. This has made it possible to increase the modulation factor of the beam, increase the useful signal, and reduce the afterimage signal. As indicated, the principal parameters of the LI-213 exceed those of the LI-201. Certain schematic changes and additions must be made in the KT-27 camera in order to realize the advantages of the LI-213 tube. (Author)
