Reducing Friction in Supports,

Abstract

The conventional method of reducing friction in roller and shell bearings -is by means of vibration of the bearing on a range between 25-500 cycles per second. This patent seeks to raise the frequency of the vibrations by an ultrasonic method using piezoceramic washers with copper strips. A figure shows the roller bearing with the piezoceramic washers and copper strips.
