Common Right Factors of a Meromorphic Function and its Derivatives.

Abstract

The authors investigate common right factors of entire functions and their derivatives. In particular, it is shown that, assuming F to be a meromorphic function, then if F, F double prime, and F sup (iv) have the same right factor g, then g is one of the four forms (a(z squared) + bz + C) sup delta, (A(e to the power cz)+B) sup delta, (A cos (cz+d) + B) sup delta, or an elliptic function of second order, where a,b,c,d,A,B, and C are constants and delta = plus or minus 1.
