Structural Ambiguity of the B10H14(2-) Ion.

Abstract

The structure of B10H14(-2) analogous to the known B10H12(CH3CN)2 structure has been confirmed by 80 MHz 11B nmr studies. This result suggests that electron delocalization is more important in determining structure than is the loss of charge separation where a choice is possible. (Author)
