Abstract

The study is concerned with the strategic and political factors operating in the Arabian Peninsula region as they might impact on the interests, policy, and activity of the US, particularly in the period following the British withdrawal from points east of Suez, including the Persian Gulf region. Details of the Gulf-its geography, social systems, economies, cultures, etc. may be found in the various sources cited in the references to the text and in the selected bibliography. (Author)
