Comparisons of Flight Tasks Performed in the T-6 Aircraft and P-1 Trainer.

Abstract

The report presents the results of photographing the performance of a set of flight maneuvers in the T-6 aircraft and in the P-1 trainer. The purpose of making these photographs was to compare the control movements required in the T-6 aircraft with those required in the P-1 trainer when the aircraft and trainer were flown through the same maneuvers. A comparison of this sort is interesting because transfer of training from the P-1 to T-6 is relatively high (50 to 60%) for this kind of maneuvers. The particular variable of interest in the study was the size of control displacement. (Author)
