An Apparatus for the Rapid Analysis of the Moisture Content of Oil,

Abstract

An apparatus has been developed for the determination of the water content of oils under laboratory conditions. The apparatus has been subjected to departmental tests and has been installed in a series of oil processing factories. The apparatus works on the principle of transformation of the aggregate state of moisture, with intermediate reaction of water vapour with calcium hydride and subsequent measurement of the concentration of hydrogen by means of a thermal-conductivity detector.
