Phase Analysis of Nickel Alloys,

Abstract

The monograph is the first systematic account of methods of phase analysis of nickel alloys and a literary survey of this question. It gives the results of long-standing investigations of the author and also the work of other researchers. Detailed descriptions are given of the conditions for selection of electrolytes for the anodic dissolution of alloys, caused by the nature of their electrochemical behavior, and also by the solubility of phases and solid solutions in different chemical media. A great deal of attention is given for the first time to the selective electrolytic separation of metallide phases which exist jointly in nickel alloys, with the subsequent determination of their accurate quantitative composition on the basis of microchemical analysis of anodic deposits. Selective electrolytic separation of phases comprises the main assignment of contemporary phase analysis. (Author)
