A Study of the Signal-Noise Ratio of a Photomultiplier,

Abstract

Discussed are dependences of signal-to-noise ratio of photoelectronic multipliers working in the flying spot system from electrical, light and thermal working regimes. Investigated is the influence of vacuum on the signal-to-noise ratio of photoelectronic multiplier. Given are recommendations for exploitation conditions of photoelectronic multiplier in the flying spot system to assure its optimum signal-to-noise ratio.
