Calculating Fatigue Strength of Steels Under Biaxial Tension,

Abstract

Calculation of the influence of biaxial tension on the fatigue strength of steels on the basis of the basic fatigue strength relations for a complex stress-strain state is given. A comparison of the experimental results with experimental fatigue data obtained for tubular samples of 1Kh18N9T and 30KhGSA steel shows that the Birger-Balashov condition provides the best correlation. This condition is also recommended for calculating structures operating under pressure in the presence of vibrations. (Author)
