Methods of Fatigue Testing of Welded Samples of Thin Sheet Titanium Alloys,

Abstract

Description of a modified Schenk-type facility with constant strain amplitude devised for fatigue testing welded titanium alloy sheet samples in pure bending. A method of calibrating the test stand to ensure symmetrical initial test loads is also proposed. The test stand makes it possible to determine the optimal welding methods for increasing the reliability and lifetime of welded structures. (Author)
