Experiment in the Extrusion of a Blade Blank of Aluminum Alloys,

Abstract

In developing a system of extrusion, special attention must be paid to the selection of the shape of the blank. We studied blanks of two kinds: with straight and with beveled edges. Extrusion of a blade blank in forged rolling should be performed using blanks with beveled edges and a heated die. The length of the calibrated portion of the matrix must be equal to the length of the blade shaft. It is recommended that compounds No. 3 or No. 6 be used for lubrication. (Author)
