Computer Network Research

Abstract

The goal of this project is to provide an environment for high quality research activities in information processing. One major area of research is mathematical modeling and analysis of computer systems. Another principle area of research, which is closely coupled with the first, is measurement of computer systems. Activity has been directed toward the analysis and measurement of time-shared systems and the ARPA computer communication network. Our third major area of responsibility has been in the specification of software protocol for use in the network. (Author)
