A Device for Testing Friction of Samples of Materials at High Temperatures in Various Media,

Abstract

The device for testing the friction of samples of materials at high temperatures in various media, containing a working chamber, a device for attaching the investigated friction pairs in the form of two concentrically located pipes, on the ends of which are placed the parts of the friction pair, a drive for rotating one of the pipes, a loading-measuring device, a heating device concentric to the pipes and instrumentation is distinguished by the fact that for the purpose of investigating friction in molten metals, it is equipped with a crucible enveloping the pipe and located inside the heating device, is installed mobile in the direction of the axis of pipes in the bottom of which the heater is placed; and that the loading-measuring device is made in the form of levers, hinged in one of the pipes, placed in the crucible.
