An Investigation of Airborne Displays and Controls for Search and Rescue (SAR). Volume II. SAR Requirements and Technology Survey.

Abstract

The volume covers the initial work tasks of this multiservice (USN, USA, USAF, USCG) research effort which pertains to airborne displays and controls for search and rescue vehicles for the 1972-1974 time frame. The work tasks include collection of SAR mission objectives from the four services, description of flight misssion profiles by mission segments, identification of functional requirements to be met and technology surveys of industry to determine applicable avionics capabilities.
