Lunar Gravity Anomalies in the Light of Geological Data (Gravitatsionnye Anomali Luny v Svete Geologicheskikh Dannykh),

Abstract

The paper is a consideration of the significance of new data on the geology of the lunar surface. The surface layer of the moon consists mainly of alternating lenses or plates of crateral or extracrateral material; some of the extracrateral rock complexes are formations of lunar seas of different ages. Traces of extracrateral volcanism are preserved on the surface of the present seas, which gives a basis to assume that the marine material is magmatic. (Author)
