Signal Generator Model SG-16(XN-2)/TRM-2 Manufactured by the Radio Corporation of America.

Abstract

The model SG-16(XN-2)/TRM-2 Signal Generator was evaluated for specification compliance and adaptability to the requirements of the Naval Service. The subject equipment was designed to provide selected radio frequency signals of a high degree of accuracy within the band of frequencies between 200 and 400 megacycles. The specific frequencies were established at intervals of 100 kilocycles throughout the range. Its range of r-f output voltage, indicated by a direct reading dial, was continuously adjustable between the limits of 1 and 100,000 microvolts through a mutual capacitance attenuator. Discrete frequencies are produced by a tunable reactance type oscillator disciplined by a 100 kc crystal controlled oscillator, with phase comparison at 100 cps. (Author)
