Armed Forces Enlistment and Examining Station (AFEES) Audiometry,

Abstract

The report deals with the technical side of the value of measuring the hearing of recruits at armed forces examination stations. Though other aspects of recruiting may necessitate such examination, the report casts a shadow on the value of testing hearing as presently done and would suggest present procedures be modified in the direction of increased accuracy of testing or that testing be accomplished later at the end of a 'probationary' period and before the government is liable for the care and custody of the recruit and his physical attributes.
