SEQOPT. A Solution to the Force Structuring Problem

Abstract

SEQOPT has been designed to solve a specific force structuring and allocation problem. Given the following: A set of targets each with a relative value and an associated single shot kill probability; A set of launch points for weapons and the number of weapons allowed at each launch point; The payload types available for use in these weapons; The set of accessible targets for a weapon carrying each payload type from every launch point. SEQOPT will then determine the payload type for each weapon in the force, and the allocation of each weapon to its set of accessible targets, in a way which attempts to maximize the expected damage to the target complex.
