Dynamic Analysis of Cams.

Abstract

The thesis deals with the computer simulated, elastic link model of an automobile cam actuated valve train. Examined are the dynamic responses to such situations as: valve bounce, pushrod bounce, excessive cam speed, cam surface machining errors, and cam profiles. The model is adaptable to various types of mechanisms and lends itself well to the incorporation on a computer graphics display. (Author)
