Synoptic Regimes Which Affect the Indochina Peninsula during the Winter Season.

Abstract

The synoptic weather regimes which affect Southeast Asia during the winter monsoon are identified through case studies utilizing conventional and satellite data. Examples are presented of the recurring regimes which produce operationally significant cloudiness over the climatological cloud minimum areas, and which produce clearing over the area normally covered by persistent stratus.
