The Question of Increase of the Reliability of High-Strength Steel Weld Joints,

Abstract

The technology and a device were developed for successive upsetting of edges under constrained conditions of deformation, which allows regulating the geometry of the thickened edge in wide limits. Thickening of the edges allows regulating the efficiency of weld joints due to the variation of properties of the metal of the seam. It is established that weld joints with thickened edges possess a reduced tendency toward brittle rupture. (Author)
