Plasticity of the Alloy 50 at .% Bi - 50 at .% Sn in Extension at High Pressure (Plastichnost Splava 50 at .% Bi + 50 at .% Sn pri Rastyazhenii pod Vysokim Davleniem),

Abstract

Experiments are performed at room temperature involving extension of the alloy mentioned at high hydrostatic presssure, revealing a new phenomenon -- the existence of intervals of pressure in which the material may have increased or decreased plasticity. It is assumed that the singular mechanical properties in these pressure intervals are related to peculiarities in the p-t diagram of the alloy.
