Air/Water Sprays as Potential Coolants for Pin-Finned Cold Plates.

Abstract

Equations are formulated which describe the processes of heat and mass transfer occurring within a pin-finned cold-plate cooled by an air/water spray. These equations are used to effect the thermal design of spray-cooled cold-plates and to study the way in which a number of the more important design variables influence the heat transfer and thermodynamic performance.
