Applied Energy Band Theory.

Abstract

The report summarizes accomplishments under the grant. The research proposed for this project involved five problems in theoretical solid state physics: (1) the study of spin waves in a model metallic ferromagnetic of face centered cubic structure; (2) the determination of the formation energy of a vacancy-interstitial pair in silicon; (3) a calculation of the wave function of donor states in gallium antimonide; (4) the investigation of exciton states in lithium and potassium bromide; and (5) the study of the semi-conductor to metal transition in nickel sulfide.
