On the Convergence of the Conjugate Gradient Method of Singular Linear Operator Equations.

Abstract

Convergence of the conjugate gradient method is established for the minimization of f(x) = (11Tx - y11) squared, when T is an arbitrary bounded linear operator between two Hilbert spaces. Different rates of convergence are obtained depending on whether or not the range of T is closed. (Author)
