The Existence and Uniqueness of a Similarity Solution Arising from Separation at a Free Stream Line.

Abstract

The paper studies the existence and uniqueness of solutions of the boundary-value problem (f triple prime) - f(f double prime) + lambda (1 + (f' squared)) = 0, with f(0) = 0, f'(0) = 0, f(x) to grow only algebraically as x approaches infinity. It is assumed that the real constant lambda lies in the range 0 < lambda < 1/2. (Author)
