Toward a Mathematical Model for Tactical Bridging.

Abstract

The purpose of the work was to develop a mathematical model for tactical bridging such that the attributes of an arbitrary bridge can be quantified and its effectiveness can be measured. A basic premise was that the model developed should not presuppose a particular bridge concept or specific methods for accomplishing the functions of tactical bridging. Essentially, the work attemps to answer the question 'what is a tactical bridge.' Although the study is concerned specifically with tactical bridging, the methodology and results should apply to other types of bridging as well. (Author)
