One Projection Method of Solving Integral-Differential Equations (Odin Proektsionnyi Metod Resheniya Integro Differentsialnykh Uravenii),

Abstract

The extensive application of electronic computers to the solution of problems has necessitated continued improvement and development of numerical and analytical methods of solving the problems of mathematical physics. The current methods of approximate solution of integral, differential, integral-differential and functional equations are quite effective and have a broad range of application. Nevertheless, the great advantages of these methods do not exclude the possibility of constructing new algorithms that reinforce or improve upon computer methods or, indeed, expand their range of application. Extremely important in this respect is the problem of construction of algorithms which would expand their range of practical application and accelerate the convergence of computer processes, and also, in view of the simplicity of their computational scheme, submit more readily than other methods to realization on the electronic computer. One such method is discussed in this article. (Author)
