Abstract

The report (1) identifies the features which distinguish SIMSCRIPT FROM GENERAL PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES, PERMITTING READERS TO JUDGE FOR THEMSELVES THE BENEFITS OF USING SIMSCRIPT in their own applications; outlines the language and implementation differences between the various versions of SIMSCRIPT; specifies the resource requirements and relative advantages of implementing each version of SIMSCRIPT at MITRE/ESD; an investigates the desirability of using SIMSCRIPT AT ESD for analyzing problems related to computer performance.
