High-Gain, Long-Period Seismograph Station Installation Report, Fairbanks, Alaska

Abstract

The report describes the installation of high-gain, long-period seismograph system at Fairbanks, Alaska. The station is located at 64 degrees 53 min. 58 sec. north latitude, 148 degrees 00 min. 20 sec. west longitude at an elevation of 330 m above sea level in a tunnel approximately 15 km from the World-Wide Standardized Seismic Network (WWSSN) station COL instrument vault. The system consists of three Geotech seismometers with natural periods of 30 sec (one vertical and two horizontal) each with two velocity transducers and one displacement transducer.
