Structural Fatigue.

Abstract

The report covers the June 1970-June 1971 period of research into structure fatigue under a Project Themis grant at the University of Connecticut. During this period research has been conducted in the areas of fracture mechanics and mechanisms, environmental influences on fatigue, dislocation behavior, alloy preparation, the use of x-ray diffraction in fatigue, and in non-destructive testing. Specific highlights of the past year's program are detailed herein as well as plans for future studies to be carried out in this research program. (Author)
