Hybrid Specialized Computer for Calculation of Optimal Distribution of Power System Loads (Givridnaya Spetsializirovanaya Vychislitelnaya Mashina dlya Rascheta Optimalnogo Raspredeleniya Nagruzok v Energosistemakh),

Abstract

A specialized hybrid computer, the RER-2, has been developed at the All-Union Scientific Research Institute for Electric Power Engineering. This machine is designed for calculation of economical operating modes of power systems, i.e., the mode providing the power requirements of the consumers with the least expenditure of power-generating fuel. This article presents a brief description of the machine, turning principal attention to those circuits and operating principles which are of general interest for computer technology. (Author)
