Bactericidal and Disinfecting Properties of Some Acyl Hydroperoxides (Bakteritsidye i Dezinfitsiruyushchie Svoistva Nekotorykh Achilnyts Gidroperekisei),

Abstract

The paper discusses the results of studying two hydroperoxide recipes elaborated by the authors: C-3 and C-4. Solutions prepared according to these recipes possessed a wide spectrum of bactericidal and sporocidal action. Bactericidal effects occured within 30-60 secs when the concentration of C-3 solution was 0.045% and 0.048% for C-4. Sporocidal effect was achieved in 1-5 minutes when 4.8% C-4 solution or 4.5% of C-3 solution were employed. The C-3 and C-4 recipes retained their sporocidal activity for 74 to 150 days; however, the time of occurance of the sporocidal effect was prolonged to 10 minutes in the case of C-4 and 60 minutes for C-3. Apparently C-3 and C-4 may be used for disinfection of surfaces infected with vegetative and microbial spore forms. (Author)
