Interdependence, Conflict, and Coordination in Organizations,

Abstract

A first purpose of the paper is to show, in a specific system, how uncoordinated interdependencies may lead to unintended and deliberate lateral conflict. A second purpose is to describe the conditions under which authoritative control is necessary for the coordination of lateral interdependence. (Author)
