In-situ Determination of Consitutive Relations of Geologic Materials.

Abstract

The calculations performed leading to specifications for a gauge system to determine the in-situ properties of natural materials through application of the conservation equations to stress data are described in this report. Conclusions are presented for the case of a spherically symmetric stress wave based upon a linear-elastic material model. (Author)
