Two-Dimensional Characteristic Ray Code Development.

Abstract

The present work describes the theory and application of one approach to the numerical computation of radiation transport in two-dimensional configurations with cylindrical symmetry. The basic method, that of characteristic rays, is a solution of the equation of transfer in integral form along photon tracks which are distributed systematically throughout the transport medium. The theory is implemented in the form of a computer code, and the solutions to a number of test problems are given. (Author)
