Nuclear Gamma-Acoustic Resonance (Yadernyi u-Akusticheskii Rezonans),

Abstract

The paper studies the effect of nuclear acoustic resonance on the nature of resonance absorption and emission of gamma quanta. It is shown that the absorption intensity and gamma radiation depend on the frequency of ultrasound and on the degree of polarization of the nuclei. An estimate of signal resonance is given for Fe57 nuclei. If the frequency of ultrasound is equal to the Larmor frequency of nuclei in an excited state, the acoustic resonance of the nuclei is detected on the basis of additional lines in gamma radiation. Analogous results are expected also in the case when spin transitions are induced by a radiofrequency field. (Author)
