On-Line Retrieval II.
Abstract
The report is concerned with the implementation of two interrelated computer systems: an automated document analysis and classification package, and an on-line interactive information retrieval system which utilizes the information gathered during the automatic classification phase. Well-known techniques developed by Salton and Dennis were adapted for the automatic classification. For those interested only in performing retrievals from the on-line console, a short instructive manual is provided. Since the report is to serve as a maintenance as well as a description of the work performed and general findings, program listings and other detailed information are included. (Author)
