Abstract
The report presents a method for relating the performance and cost of an aircraft to its subsystem parameters, and selecting the parameter values which produce required performance at minimum cost. The method is also useful in studying the effect on performance and cost of trade-offs between subsystems. A sample problem is solved for illustrative purposes.
