Firing of Antiaircraft Missiles,

Abstract

In the book an account is given in a form which is accessible for a wide circle of readers, of questions pertaining to the theory of guidance and firing of antiaircraft guided missiles. The book is written on the basis of materials published in the open press. The examples given are constructed on arbitrary data and bear an illustrative nature. In the book an analysis and evaluation are made of the methods of guidance of remote-controlled and homing missiles. The questions of the dynamics of flight and control of antiaircraft missiles in conformance to the assignments of the bases of firing are stated. The characteristics of errors in the guidance of a missile are given and the factors which determine the coordinate law for hitting a target are considered. The methods of evaluation of the effectiveness of firing antiaircraft guided missiles are considered. In conclusion the concept is given about the determination of the limits of the zone of destruction and fire capacity of an antiaircraft missile complex. In presenting the material considerable attention is allotted to the expansion of the physical meaning of the phenomena, which accompany the firing of antiaircraft guided missiles, and the influence of firing conditions on its effectiveness.
