Electroslag Melting,
Abstract
The book deals with a method of producing steels and alloys of especially high quality. The history of the creation of the method is described, extensive material concerning investigation of melting and crystallization of metals are included, as well as discussion of the physicochemical processes occurring during electroslag remelting of consumable electroslag in a cooled mold. Data are given on the quality of electroslag metal and on the economic effectiveness of the method. New developments in the field of electroslag remelting of metal are described. (Author)
