An Error Data Logger,

Abstract

The report describes a device which will count the number of input pulses occurring during a selected period and print the result on a teleprinter at the end of the period. It will interface directly with a Trend Data Transmission Test Set (No. 1-3) and so can be used for continuous monitoring of the errors occurring on digital data links at data rates of up to 4800 bauds. The teleprinter output is in ITA No. 2 teleprinter code at 50 to 75 bauds and the punched tape output can be fed directly into a computer for analysis of large quantitities of data. The count period can be set to 1, 2, 5, 10, 30 or 60 minutes or to 100,000 data elements. (Author)
